This photograph was taken during my visit to the Dongmyo flea market in Seoul, South Korea over the past summer. My photograph embodies my fascination with the mix of old and new I witnessed. The prominent building is worn and dilapidated with tangled telephone wires and aging paint. It evokes a nostalgic feeling of Korea’s past. In the background there are hints of modern apartment buildings that are a stark contrast to the other building. I want to depict with this photograph the past and present of Dongmyo.
