This photograph was taken during my visit to the Dongmyo Flea Market, where a store captured my attention because of the amount of fans they sold that were individually wrapped in plastic that seemed to reflect the bright August sun. At first, seeing the number of fans, I craved its cool air, but with some thought, I began to realize the irony: the environmental impact of the plastic packaging and the fans. The photograph depicts the contrast between the temporary relief that the fan could provide and the long-term effect it could also have.
